Winner of Star SME awards, Business Standard, 2010

OnMobile, India’s largest and only listed player in the telecom value-added services space, was named the Star company in the Small and Medium Enterprise category at the prestigious Business Standard awards. The Honorable Home Minister P Chidambaram handed the award to Mr. Arvind Rao, co-founder, chief executive officer, and managing director of OnMobile.

Arvind Rao, Chairman, CEO and Co-founder, OnMobile, was on 17th September, 09 awarded the prestigious Dataquest 'Pathbreaker of the Year 2009' award in recognition of his contribution in the field of telecom and infotech, in creating the biggest telecom VAS company in India.

OnMobile has done innovative work in voice portals and grew both organically and inorganically. Under the leadership of Rao the company created, retained and maintained a great team and achieved global scale, touching a billion consumers worldwide, and breaking a path for others to follow.

"IT stalwarts like Wipro and Infosys have brought India on global map as best IT services destination. We want to bring India on global map as best IT products destination," said Rao, after receiving the award.

The V&D100 Awards were presented for various categories based on VOICE&DATA's annual V&D100 industry study. The study is an exercise that VOICE&DATA undertakes every year, popularly recognized by the Indian communications industry as its most reliable chronicle. The survey is conducted to account for the strides made by the industry just after each passing financial year.

The information gathered in the study helps in shaping up the decisions of companies, users, financiers, and policy makers.

Being included on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific program for the second consecutive year is a significant achievement. In its 7th year, the program ranks the fastest growing technology companies in Asia Pacific, highlighting both established and emerging companies.
