Mobile Search

Msearch is a content search and delivery solution that works across Voice, SMS and WAP channels. It supports multilingual searches in 10 languages with the list of languages constantly being upgraded. Msearch has a text based content discovery system that enables users to explore and identify all downloadable content including ringtones, wallpapers, video-clips etc as well as customizable content such as Ringback tones (Caller Tunes). M-Search is already integrated with OnMobile’s content delivery and billing frameworks.

Msearch has been built as a generic system to enable users, access and use all types of content – entertainment and informational in future releases. Msearch is the combined result of several innovations in the mobile domain including:

• N-Grams support & Phonetic filters: This enables Msearch to accommodate spelling or pronunciation errors in both text and voice requests and produces meaningful results even for misspelled or poorly pronounced search requests. This simplifies the user experience
• Support for abbreviations and acronyms: This facility enables users to search strings instead of using complete details like ‘MI’ instead of ‘Mission Impossible’
• Collaborative Filtering: Msearch leverages this feature to recommend related content and this is especially useful when the user’s original search request cannot be fulfilled.
• Multilingual Dynamic Grammar Generation: This is specifically relevant for voice based searches as the list of songs varies depending on the users’ request. It should be noted that the requested song could be in any one of the 10 languages and needs to be correctly recognized.
